Memorial Day inches closer! Could the portal to Narnia be... in your Kitchen?

So, the unofficial start to summer creeps closer and closer.   Evidenced by the male half of the mating pair living behind us, surveying his festering pool and what needs to be done, etc.   All the while barking orders at his kids and foster kids, etc.   But he didn't show the outie!   So we should give thanks!   Maybe I'll get lucky and he won't open it this year because of higher electricity rates.   But then it could be a mosquito haven!   Hmmm.   Outie. Mosquito's.  Bariatric Bettie.   Mosquito's.   I'll take Mosquito's, Jack, for $1 million dollars. LOL   BTW, did I mention that any similarity towards real people is purely coincidental.   Yes, I just did.   So, I was in line at one of those fancy ice cream chain places where they make your stuff for you.   Wife sent me out for some after dinner dessert.   After I ordered and I'm just looking around waiting to get my tub 'o' whatever, I notice a dry erase board in the food prep area.   So I start to read what my old eyes could make out.   Stuff about; being out of sanitizer, what to do instead, etc.   Don't work any overtime, etc.   Then, in bolder color, below that first mumbo jumbo reads:

Hilarious!  Ah, the hijinks of part time food service!   It seems years ago, actually it is, that I was working at a fine eating establishment in the Cherry Hill Mall in Cherry Hill, NJ called Mr. Dunderbak's.   Sausages, cheese, beer steins, real germans!   In fact, the gentle visage of Mr. Dunderbak, himself, gazes down upon me in my basement shop, here in Elkton, MD.   Watching me assemble different things from hot dogs 'mit' kraut or Ruebens or Dusseldorfer's.   Ah, the three Hilda's, Mr. T and his son, John, and Carl, will have a fond place in my heart always.   Time to go make portions!   See you later, Kinders!

Mayoral race in Elkton, MD! Vote for Joe!

One exciting thing here abouts in Elkton is a mayoral race to be decided May 23, I think.   Incumbent Joe Fisona has been challenged by Charles 'Chief' Jagoe.   Mr. Jagoe is called 'chief' because he used to be chief of police here in Elkton, MD.   My support is behind the incumbent, he's done a fair job across the board during his four year tenure.   Hopefully that will continue for another four!   'Chief' Jagoe doesn't seem to be very prolific in getting his views out to the voting public.   He wasn't present for an interview of the candidates at a luncheon, recently.   Some people seem to support him though.   My thoughts about his unceremonious firing a few years back stems from union interest within the police department itself.   Ah, very cagey stuff within a small town indeed!   With that said, if you're reading this and you live in Elkton, Vote for Joe!   Keep 'em snappin' babies!

Neighbor's Annual Point the Power Washer at the Window Cleaning Day!

So I've mentioned my neighbors before right? LOL   So, every year, the male half walks around thier home and randomly power washes the siding.   Doesn't use a ladder just points it up and really pushes the water up under the siding! LOL   It's one of those gas powered ones too, real powerful!   The other thing he likes to do is go whole hog at the windows with this thing.   Now, once again, I'm not an expert but... one needs to be aware of the propensity of water to infiltrate the smallest of openings AND the fact that a pressure washer can and will rip wood apart!   Anymore I just shake me head at this act of ignorance.   Poor bastard is just pushing water into the envelope of the house!   Better him than me!   Also, my unofficial countdown of their pool opening has begun.   My money is on Memorial Day weekend.   Those Weeping Willows I planted at the back of the yard can't grow too fast!   Maybe I'll post pics? LOL The male half over there does possess an impressive beer gut along with an equally disgusting 'outie.'   No offense to anyone else, but that thing gives me the squirms!   I'll have to get a close up and post it!

So... It's been awhile... Again!

Well, I've been somewhat busy as of late, haven't had a chance to post much at all.   I don't know about you but I've certainly been trying to cut back on my gas usage as of late.   Maintaining tire pressure and smart driving practices can certainly do a lot to maximize your gas mileage.   But a big thing is combining trips instead of a lot of single trips.   Amazing how many you do when you start to think about it!   One surprising thing I've noticed is that people don't seem to want to slow down.   Don't people realize the faster you go, the more gas you burn?   I'm sure there's an 'optimal' speed where any model is most efficient, but, damn people!   Slow the F! down!   I know I have!   As for new more efficient cars, the Toyota Yaris looks awesome!   And a great price too!   Starts at around $11,000.  If they only had come out 6 months earlier I would've bought that instead of my Hyundai Elantra.   Finally got to see Treasure Planet last night with my kids, (Disney channel showed it).   Great movie!   Good adaptation and re-imagining, see it soon!   So, until next time babies, Be Free!
